New Contacts and Creative Projects Planned: after the conference in Bari, Amres Art Gallery develops collaboration with Hungary

In November last year, Amres Art Gallery (Lithuania) was invited by Enterprise Europe Network partners from the Puglia region to participate in an international conference in Bari, Italy. Creativity Meets Clusters brought together cultural and creative industries (CCI) representatives from Europe and other countries around the world.

Amres Art Gallery is located in Vilnius, 41 Polocko Street. It is a unique educational space for applied art, featuring works of art, fashion and design created using the method of intuitive aesthetics.

Amres Art Gallery focuses on intercultural art, design and fashion projects, where old (heritage) technologies and methods find new expressions that are relevant to contemporary man. The aesthetics of ancient cultures are a source of inspiration for the contemporary world. The Gallery organizes educational projects and plein-air workshops, moderates the co-creation of intercultural images and products, and organizes exhibitions and expositions on neuro-aesthetics.

The international Creativity Meets Clusters event aimed to encourage CCI cluster leaders to develop new visions and strategies for the growth of the cultural and creative ecosystem in Europe and internationally, to expand their knowledge and to draw inspiration from each other. Lithuania was represented by Rasa Baltė Balčiūnienė, head of Amres Art Gallery and HAI Institutas UAB, and Greta Greiciunaitė, the gallery’s image and communication developer.

Enterprise Europe Network provided a unique opportunity not only to broaden our horizons through inspiring plenary sessions, seminars and business meetings, but also to establish new contacts that we hope will develop into meaningful further cooperation. Our presentation “Heritage and Art Gallery: Heritage that Cares – The New Frontier of Cultural Welfare” showcased the experience and activities of Amres Art Gallery,” said Rasa Baltė Balčiūnienė, founder and CEO of the gallery.

“The presentation shared the gallery’s mission to combine cultural heritage with contemporary design. We talked about our creative methods, based on the principles of neuroaesthetics, which help us create emotionally impactful and visually inspiring art. We presented a collection of silk batik fabrics, combining Lithuania’s role as a cross-cultural facilitator with Indonesia’s heritage – the batik technology – and invited collaborations between creators seeking to make sense of tradition in a contemporary context,” Rasa told.

The conference was full of insightful discussions and connections with people who live and breathe creativity and art every day. “Very interesting that during the conference, almost every presentation highlighted the involvement of senses, movements and emotions in creative activities. It is encouraging that Amres Art‘s activities, using the science of neuroaesthetics, already live these current issues. In the gallery, we are developing fabric designs that build on the heritage of old technologies, preserving them and giving them new expressions. These are works that encode a deep connection to human emotions and sensations, created through the aesthetics of organic forms and inspired by nature. We are delighted that this vision was so warmly received at the international conference. We came back inspired by creative energy, new acquaintances and a lot of ideas that we are eager to implement,” says Greta Greiciunaitė, communication officer at Amres Art Gallery.

Shortly afterwards, the relationship with the President of Global Sustainable Fashion Week in Hungary, which was established in Bari, develops into a multifaceted collaboration. Amres Art Gallery is now actively preparing for the fashion week, where it will present a documentary about the cultural heritage of Old Europe, accompanied by a unique collection of silk batik inspired by our own roots.
